Spring 2010 Fashion Trend: Dresses

Lori Jill Shirley
Dress trends for spring 2010 offer the fashion conscious girl many different style choices. From short and sassy mini dresses to elegant sheaths, here is a rundown of spring 2010's hottest dress styles for women, how to accessorize them and where they can be bought online.

Mini Dresses and Tunics

Shorter is definitely sweeter this spring, with cute mini dresses and over sized tunics being the must have dresses for the season. Mini dresses and tunics in prints such as floral, hounds tooth, paisley, and stripes are hot sellers on Modcloth, and look fantastic cinched at the waist with a statement belt and a pair of peep-toe boots or ballet flats. A great way to accessorize a cute mini dress is to wear a solid colored blazer or fly away cardigan over it, and flashy gold jewelry adds a great finishing touch. Now, if you aren't quite comfortable wearing a dress that is cut short, don a pair of solid black leggings underneath with a pair of ankle boots. This keeps you covered up, while still keeping a sexy and stylish look.

Lace Dresses

Sexy dresses made of lace are guaranteed to be seen on many stylish women this year at elegant parties and black tie events. When wearing a lace dress, make sure your accessories are minimal and elegant. For instance, you want a very sedate pearl necklace or simple gold jewelry when wearing all lace. Since your dress is made of a frilly, sexy material, you want to downplay it with simple accessories to avoid looking over the top. Finish off your romantic look with a pair of classic pumps, stockings and a small clutch bag. Lace dresses can be found for sale at Shopstyle.com at various prices.

Sheath Dresses

The classic sheath dress is a superb choice for career girls this spring. The classic cut and modest length offer a style that is both sexy and classy, perfect for the workplace. Macys website has many beautiful sheath dresses for sale in vibrant colors and prints, and always be sure to check their site daily as different styles will sometimes go on sale through out the day. Sheath dresses look best with a cinch belt and classic pumps, and I personally like to give mine a retro touch with a vintage brooch and flashy jewelry. Classic sheaths also make great Easter dress choices, as they are a more conservative look.
