Spring Break 2008 in Jamaica

Dance, Dance Dance Until the the Sun Comes Up!

Beth Inman
The time to start planning for Spring Break is here. Travel planning is my passion and for that reason, I did the research for you!

I have listed three package options, in no particular order. As you know, it is very important to secure travel through a verified travel Agent. As always, I verified the companies promoting the packages with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I will not recommend a company that does not meet the BBB Accreditation standards.

Sunsplash Tours offers a great deal on Spring Break travel packages. On their main page they have a link to a Spring Break Guide.

This page links up to all of the Spring Break options they have available. It is in book format, so by clicking on the pages you can read through the book of Spring Break packages. Booking early seems to be the way to go with this one. They also have an 800 number you can call, or feel free to email them at the address provided.

The Spring Break packages start at $499 per person for 4, 5 and 7 night packages. The Air Fare/Hotel packages include Round trip airfare to Negril, Jamaica, with transfers between airport and hotel. The Spring Break package includes hotel tax and service charges. They promise professional on-site tour reps with offices on location. Meal plans are available for additional charges. Free drinks are listed at 30 hrs in Negril, Jamaica. You will be given a Sun Splash wristband to wear while you are enjoying your Spring Break. This will bring free and discounted covers, meals and water sports. This wristband also allows discounts for side excursions. There is also a FREE bonus Spring Break PARTY PACK, which includes welcome parties and express line entry into the clubs.

There are several Hotel options and pricing is based on your selection. My choice on this site would be the For Real Beach Resort. Decorated in bright pink, blue and yellow, it is right on the beach. They offer luxury for a bargain, and promise you can walk to most beach activities.

All rooms have telephone and cable TV. They also claim to have the best red Stripe Beer in town! There are 30 rooms in all, a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, and restaurant. For those of you who will be doing room time... there is A/C in every room.

Student City calls them selves the ultimate Spring Break Location and it certainly seems to be a great site for deals. For a package of 7 nights, departing Chicago on March 23, 2008, a 7-night stay in an all-inclusive room at The Negril Beach Club/Condo in Negril, Jamaica is $1229.00 per person. This Spring Break package is based on 4 people and of course, the more people you can get to share the room with you, the less the trip will cost for all of you. They also list a Super Sale price on a Standard room for 4 spring breakers at $799.00 per person.

The Negril Beach Club/Condos is located on Seven Mile Beach. This is central to the cliff bars and beach nightclubs. They have all you will need for Spring Break. The condos can accommodate up to 8 Spring Breakers. The pool has a pool bar. Spring Breakers come here for the beach and The Negril Beach Club jet skiing and diving, as well as boat rides to take you to the coral reefs. They have two restaurants; with Al fresco dining that includes a breakfast bar. They also have two bars on property.

The condos are one and two bedrooms. They have in room safety boxes you can rent. All rooms have A/C, cable TV, telephones, a stove and refrigerator; they also have a private patio and balcony.

My third destination package is to Montego Bay, Jamaica, or Mo' Bay, as it is known to those that have walked the sand or partied the party! Student Travel Services is a great site for booking this package. I can't say it better than the STS site does:

STS keeps you out all day and up all night with our action packed VIP Party Schedule! Doctors Cave Beach, home to the STS Welcome Party, Doctors Cave Hotel and Margaritaville will knock your sandals off with crazy theme parties, contest and give-a-ways! Dance, dance, dance and when the sun comes up, hang by the pool, soak up the rays and enjoy the contests at Doctor's Cave Hotel, cruise down the winding water slide at Margaritaville or climb the 600-foot cascading waterfall of Dunn's River Falls. The options are endless and the memories will last forever.

My choice here is a 7 day Air Fare/Hotel package; flying from Chicago to Montego Bay, Jamaica on March 22,2008for your Spring Break. The price again, is based on 4 people. $1038.00 per person includes departure taxes/fees, and travel protection. This price is for a standard room/European plan at Dr.s Cave Beach Hotel in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Each Package includes:

Round trip airfare, airport/hotel transfers for a 7-night stay. This includes all hotel taxes. STS promises a 24 staff on location. There are several party package options and also options for meals and excursions.

Dr.s Cave Beach Hotel has 90 guest rooms and is located in the heart of the strip. There are two restaurants, and the famed Grotto Bar on site. Other amenities include a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, game room and an Internet café.
