Spring Break Cabin Rentals

There is a Cabin Rental to Suit Your Preference

Some spring breakers are going to the beach, but that is not for everyone. Instead, how about renting a cabin to enjoy some fun, beauty, and relaxation? Here are some tips to help make your cabin rental experience worthwhile:

Company. Find a reputable company that is known for high quality renting of cabins. This means there is strong word of mouth referrals. You know of friends who have stayed with them, or you yourself have done so. A highly respected firm offering cabin rentals is found in KOA. They have locations throughout the country for you to choose from. Visit www.koa.com for more information. Here you will find locations, rates, cabin sizes, contact info, and amenities - among other stuff.

Location. Depending upon your preference, there are cabin rentals available in tourist areas, national parks, oceanside, or in the middle of the boondocks. Just decide what you want and go for it. In addition to geographic location, activities may vary according to location. Decide on what activities you are interested in and find out who offers them. Many KOA's have affiliations with outdoor activity firms so they can offer your diversity at great rates.

Safety. Safety needs to be an important issue for your cabin rental. Your cabin needs to have a secure door lock with keys being given to only those that you specify. And, the rental cabin company needs to have an extra key just in case.

Lighting. Your cabin rental for spring break needs to have enough outdoor lighting so that you feel safe enough to venture out at night in case you need to make a trip to the rest room. Even though a lot of lighting is not necessary, some is. For instance, the rest room area needs to be lit up. That makes it easy to find. It also can be used as a point of reference for your rental cabin.

Cleanliness. Your rental cabin needs to be properly cleaned prior to you settling in. When you check in, notice how clean the rental office is. That is an indicator as to what to expect in your cabin. If it is not to your liking, do not check in. Find another place.

Meals. Check to see what meals, if any, are included in the cabin rental rates. Some places offer a free pancake breakfast while others offer breakfasts at a nominal charge. What spring breaker wouldn't like this? There have been a couple of KOA's I stayed at that made fantastic breakfasts for only $4. I just couldn't be the deal.

Space. The space between cabins may be of importance to you. Some cabin rental parks are so cramped that there just is not any privacy. Others have sufficient space between cabins to allow for you to sleep soundly or laugh and not wake up your neighbors. Check into this area prior to reserving your cabin rental.

Deposit. The amount of deposit will vary according to the cabin rental facility. Some require a few dollars, while others will require up to ½ of the total amount.

Cabin set up. Check out the floor plan of the cabins you are interested in. I have slept in cabins that had bunk beds in the back, with a LARGE queen bed in a private room in the front of the cabin. Other cabins just have bunk beds. Sometimes the floor plan just has cots on the floor. Either way, know what you want and check into it prior to making reservations.

Reservations. You will more than likely need to make reservations. Be sure to know the deadlines/timelines involved so you are not left stranded.
