Spring Break Surf Guide: Galveston, Texas Has Distinctive Waves for All Surfers

The best and most economical spring break surfing is found at the nearest surfing beach. Not everyone knows this, but the coast along Galveston, Texas has some of the nicest surfing in the Southern United States.

The best time to surf is in the spring, when storms and weather changes bring consistent large waves. Of course, right before and right after a storm the surf becomes higher with larger waves, but surfing during these times is risky at best.

The best places to surf are between the 25^th street and 61^st street jetties. It always makes sense to surf in areas with a lifeguard present. If the red flag is up, plan for a picnic on the beach instead. And if no lifeguard is on duty, stay on the shore.
