1. Excalibur: Ok, so the King Arthur decorations might not be the most hip in terms of Las Vegas hotels, but one thing is for sure: this hotel is extremely affordable. Rates are relatively low, depending on the season, but the quality of the rooms is never compromised. Clean and for the most part quiet, the Excalibur is a great hotel for anyone on a tight budget, leaving plenty of money left over for entertainment or gambling. Located on the south part of the Las Vegas strip, the Excalibur is within walking distance to any number of luxury hotels and restaurants. Numerous cafes, restaurants and buffets offer variety dining within the hotel, as well as pools, spas and salons.
2. New York-New York: The tallest hotel casino in Nevada, New York-New York is designed to replicate the Big Apple itself, complete with landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square and New York City-style rooms. The rooms are spacious and modern, a good value for the rates. Several of their many dining choices offer anything from steakhouses to cafes, as well as a popular Irish pub, 'Nine Fine Irishmen'. New York-New York also features an indoor version of Coney Island, complete with carnival games and rides. A good attraction for the hotel is the Manhattan Express, which is a roller coaster that starts indoors, and then goes outside for loops and twists. New York-New York has a pool, spa and fitness center available to any guests of the hotel.
3. Monte Carlo: Designed after the Place du Casino in Monte Carlo, Monaco, this hotel is filled with luxury for about the same price as the Excalibur. Each room is very clean and nicely decorated, as well as the rest of the hotel casino. Marble floors, chandeliers, and detailed interior design make up the Monte Carlo, resulting in making it worth the time to spend there. The Monte Carlo offers fine dining as well as casual fare, and of course, options for typical Vegas buffet-style dining is also available. The use of the pool is offered to hotel guests as well as a salon and spa.
4. The Mirage- This hotel decorated in Polynesian luxury is a great place to stay for Spring Break because it's one of the more luxurious hotels offered for a great value. Lagoons, waterfalls and a volcano that explodes every 15 minutes surround the outside of the hotel. The Mirage also has many shows and exhibits, but don't go looking for Siegfried & Roy, because a new show is in town! Cirque de Soliel has made its home in the Mirage with a new show titled, 'Love', incorporating Beatles music as the backdrop. Since this hotel is a little more luxurious, there are more fine dining choices than casual dining and there are plenty of lounges to visit.
5. Treasure Island- TI, as it's known now, is also a great, affordable hotel to stay at during Spring break. The theme of TI is a pirate village from the 18th century, but no worries; it's nothing like Pirates of the Caribbean! Looking more like a hotel in the elegance of the Caribbean Islands, TI offers the same quality rooms as more expensive neighboring hotels, but without the steep costs. While many choices for dining exist, a great place to try here is the casual dining delicatessen, 'Canter's Deli'. The delicatessen, being a Los Angeles landmark, made its move to TI, and is really great and worth a stop.
The great thing about visiting in Las Vegas is that you can spend a moderate amount of money on a quality hotel and casino, yet still enjoy the luxury of the atmosphere without emptying your pockets. While hotel rates do vary by season, these profiled hotels will offer cheaper rates than many others without sacrificing quality or grandeur.
