One: Being single does not mean that you have to spend your vacation alone. Pick one or more of your single friends, pick a vacation destination, and then go! Sometimes just spending some time with good friends can be more fulfilling than a week-long vacation with a partner.
Two: If you do vacation alone, take the time to enjoy being the only person choosing the destination and setting the agenda. There is no need to please anyone else. You are in charge of everything- enjoy it!
Three: Avoid traditional Spring Break cities if you are not looking for nightlife. Bars and tourist traps dominate most of the typical Spring Break destinations, and these locations are usually crowded due to hype.
Four: Spring Break is a great time to unwind and spend some time alone. There are many vacation destinations that provide seclusion while keeping you close enough to the action to explore when you have had enough quiet time. One spot that is a prime example of one of these destinations is Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Gatlinburg, Tennessee provides the perfect mixture of tourism and solitude. The main drag through town is cluttered with museums, shops, restaurants, and activities for the willing tourists. Attractions include the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum, skiing, snowboarding, sky lifts, laser tag, and many others. Hiking and nature enthusiasts can enjoy the proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is just a short drive from the heart of Gatlinburg. For someone seeking solitude, it is also a good idea to rent a cabin from one of the numerous vacation rental companies in the area. From personal experience, I can say that Gatlinburg is an ideal location for someone vacationing alone. This getaway spot offers seclusion in the form of fantastic cabin rentals, but it is just a quick drive into town to enjoy the local style.
Five: It is time to let go of the stress. Whether you are vacationing by yourself of with friends, it is time to temporarily erase your day-to-day life from existence. Of course, this is not an endorsement of dangerous behavior, but it is perfectly fine to take a few risks while on vacation.
"What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." Las Vegas, NV is the perfect city to let go and "live a little." Vegas offers a number of attractions and very active nightlife. According to the Las Vegas visitor's website, attractions include casinos, live entertainment, tours, museums, and spas. This lively city also hosts a variety of conventions year-round. Overall, Las Vegas is a great vacation spot for singles.
Six: Do not be ashamed to scout for someone attractive. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this behavior. Remember: You are not the only single on vacation, so you are probably not the only one hunting for someone to buy a drink.
Panama City Beach, FL is a prime spot for nightlife and a singles' hunting ground. According to a Panama City Beach (PCB) visitor's website, PCB has 27 miles of beach. These fantastic beaches are well-known for the clean white sand and the beautifully blue water. The bars make PCB a prime party place, but there are other attractions, such as diving, dining, and lounging on the beach to consider. For a relaxed or a party-oriented getaway, Panama City Beach fits the mold for a great vacation.
Seven: Make sure to save up enough money, especially if you take a vacation alone. You are more likely to have extra time for shopping, and shopping in a tourist town gets pretty pricey in a relatively short amount of time.
Eight: If you are going by yourself, consider the safety of the location. Do not pick a hotel on the rough end of town if you are going to be walking to and from bars every night. Of course, there is danger everywhere, so always be on your guard and try to familiarize yourself with an area while it is daylight. Lost tourists are easy targets for robberies.
Nine: Wherever you go, immerse yourself in the settings. Do not go to a Mediterranean restaurant and order the chicken tenders. Make the most of your vacation by trying new things and being adventurous.
Ten: Take pictures and buy souvenirs. No matter where you choose to go, you will always have the memories of your trip, but picking up a meaningful souvenir or snapping a goofy picture can help to solidify those memories.
Being single does not limit the capacity for enjoyment during Spring Break. If anything, being single can be a liberating experience. Hopefully these tips will help you to construct the perfect plan for your safe and exciting Spring Break trip.
