Spring Break Vacations for Singles

Brandee Teer
Spring break season is just around the corner and many students and young adults alike will be venturing to the beach with their friends and significant others for a fun filled, memory making week. Spring break like any holiday or fun time can be hard when you're single. Here are some tips if you're single on how to make the best of your spring break vacation and maybe walk away dating the man or woman of your dreams.

1. Spring break is about making memories...

Don't let the fact that you're single get you down this spring break season. Spring break is about making memories with your friends, enjoying an exotic locale and just having fun. Think of the vacation as a break from the dating game and allow yourself a week of fun in the sun. Being single at spring break can put you at a great advantage. This spring break don't think of yourself as single think of yourself as free to flirt! Go into your vacation thinking that this is a free opportunity to enjoy your singleness.

2. Do a little research...

If you're travelling alone this spring break be sure to do your research and have at least some sort of a plan. Travelling by yourself can be scary for some people and planning ahead will make you feel more at ease especially if you are visiting a new locale.

3. Be safe...

Because you will be travelling by yourself this time, be sure to stay aware. Single individuals can be an easy target for so many crimes. Make duplicate copies of your passport, take along your credit card phone numbers, and carry travelers checks. Don't go to unlit areas late at night and mainly just use common sense. Remember that this is a foreign location and spring break vacationers can often be crime targets especially when you're travelling alone.

4. Consider a singles cruise....

Sites likes singlescruise.com cater to the single individual looking for a great time and offer cruises only for those who are single. They offer cruises in exotic locales and it can be a great way to meet other singles, build friendships and maybe even find a hookup (or two).

5. Check out a travel agent or online site...

These sites offer great packages which are often cheaper than what you would spend on your spring break vacation. They offer getaways to many popular spring break locales with planned events that can help you to meet up with other singles. Going this route can also save you some money especially where travel fees are concerned.

6. Enjoy being single...

Consider this a new experience. Single people often shy away from things that will cause them anxiety but who cares if they are fun. Most single people won't go out to dinner, a movie or on vacation alone. Just enjoy being single, the fun times and memories are something that you will cherish your whole life and what an experience to see the world with no worries of who you're going with. Be strong, independent and enjoy being single!

7. Remember there are laws...

No one wants to spend their spring break vacation in the local slammer. Remember to look into local laws before you head out for that getaway. Don't do anything while there that's questionable and if comes down to questioning whether what you're about to do is legal or not...you probably shouldn't be doing it anyway.

8.Get your moneys worth...

Spring break can be expensive. Hotels and other amenities often raise their prices during these weeks. Consider travelling a week or so later than typical spring break weeks or think of some money saving ideas ahead of time. Consider hooking up with another single friend to split the cost of hotel rooms. Also think about bringing along some of your own food, carpooling, or cutting your alcohol consumption to save money. Also consider where you're going for spring break and maybe choose a less popular locale.

9. No moping...

Make it a rule that you won't sit around and mope about your single status the spring break. Set up an itinerary so that you will stay this vacation and don't give yourself time to pout about going it alone.

10. If all else fails...

Go to Cancun. Cancun is a spring break hotspot and with thousands of people visiting it this spring break, you won't stay single for long. Its hot night life will have you hooking up in no time.

Remember this spring break vacation that this is a time for fun and who cares if you have to go it alone. Whenever you feel down about it, think of the thing you least like about your ex and be glad you don't have to deal with that this vacation.

Happy travels!
