Flower Faces
This bulletin is fun and easy for kids to create in remembrance of the beautiful flowers of spring. For this idea you will need construction paper, green crepe paper, scissors, and glue. You should also ask each student to bring in a picture of their faces. Remember to cover the bulletin board with blue butcher paper to represent a beautiful spring sky.
Start this project by helping elementary school kids cut their faces out of the photos. Then provide them with plenty of construction paper. Help them cut flower petals out of the construction paper to make a flower around their face. Petals can be long tear drop shapes or big ovals. Allow kids to be creative.
While students are creating their flowers the teacher should prepare the bulletin board. Then cut a large yellow circle for the sun and add some yellow triangles to the outside for sunbeams. Finally use the green construction paper to represent grass and flower stems. Start the grass and flower stems coming up from the bottom of the bulletin board. Help elementary school students add their finished flowers to the spring themed bulletin board to complete it.
Bug Life
This spring bulletin board idea is fun and allows kids to learn about bugs and be creative. For this idea you will need construction paper, blue butcher paper, brown butcher paper, scissors, glue, and markers. Start by covering the bulletin board with blue construction paper.
Then provide students with construction paper, scissors, markers, and glue. Help elementary school students decide on what type of insect they would like to create. Some ideas are ladybugs, butterflies, and bees. Provide students with pictures of each bug and help them create their own by cutting the paper into simple shapes and gluing them together. Kids can add details and their names on the bugs using the markers.
While kids are creating their insects cut the brown paper into a tree shape. This is done easily by cutting a long rectangle to the trunk and adding small Y shapes for branches. Attach the tree to the center of the bulletin board. When the kids have completed their insects also attach them to the bulletin board.
These spring ideas for bulletin boards are fun for your elementary school students. This spring inspire education and creativity in elementary schools with these bulletin board ideas.
