Spring Cleaning for Your Health

Kelly Fleming
When the weather starts to turn warmer you know that it is that time of year again, spring cleaning. The winter and fall have brought with them germs and unwanted illnesses throughout the seasons. Spring cleaning for your health will get rid of everything. There ways to get this done faster and get the whole family involved.

Organize, Organize, Organize:

Get with the Family and decide who will be doing what. Start the kids on easier tasks like straightening up. You do not want them to dread spring cleaner for the rest of their lives. Between the Mother and Father one of you can take the bathrooms while the other one does all of the floors. Included in the floors are: moping, sweeping, and vacuuming.

Use a Powerful Cleaning Agent:

Choose a cleaner that will get rid of 99% of all bacterial. There are different types available one of them is Lysol, this can disinfect anything. There are also all natural cleaners available that are supposed to be better for you and the environment, an example are seventh generation cleaning products. Having a clean house is key to getting rid of everything that has been making your Family sick.

Disinfect:

After the house is cleaned it is a good idea to disinfect. Some areas most commonly over-looked are: door knobs, toilet handles, cupboards, refrigerators, and basically anything with handle or something that can be picked up. If there are little ones in the house take a bucket of water and add a little bleach, then let their toys soak for a small period of time to get rid of germs. Make sure you rinse the toys really after they soak to get all of the bleach out.

Celebrate and Relax:

It is time to relax now all of the hard work is done. Go out for dinner or maybe order pizza for everyone's hard work. Pick up a movie and call it a Family night. The kids will really enjoy this and it will be well worth it for having a clean and disinfected house.

If you make spring cleaner fun, easy, and rewarding everyone will want to be a future participant in the years to come. It is very important to disinfect, because if there was an illness going around like the stomach virus this can be passed back and forth multiple times. It would be like a never-ending story until something is done.
