1 When dusting during your spring cleaning efforts, make sure to move from top to bottom, as dust commonly rises and floats around in the air. You don't want your dusting to be for nothing.
2 Use vertical strokes when washing windows outside and horizontal for
inside windows, or vice versa. Using this method allows you to shorten your spring cleaning efforts, and you will be able to tell which side has streaks.
3 Don't wash your windows and glass on a dry and sunny day. The sun and dryness of the air will make your windows dry faster than they need to, creating streaks.
4 Allow your cleaners to mold into the area for several minutes. This will ease your spring cleaning troubles as cleaner is intended to get deep into the bacteria.
5 Leave baking soda or another carpet cleaner on smelly spots of the floor. Over night, you will notice that the nasty smell has dissipated.
6 Wash the walls from top to bottom. When moving from the bottom up, streaking is common, and the liquids you use to clean the top can leak back down to the bottom. You want as little recleaning as possible during spring cleaning.
7 You can shine windows after cleaning by using an old newspaper and rubbing across the windows. Other items with similar textures to newspapers will also do the trick. Make sure the ink isn't running beforehand.
8 Rubbing alchohol is your friend when cleaning the bathroom. You can use rubbing alchohol to removes spots and smudges on the toilet, sink and walls. You can also use the alchohol to remove miscoloring on mirrors.
9 The best way to clean your kitchen counters during spring cleaning is to use
club soda. Club soda is necessary as kitchen stains are usually filled with large amounts of bacteria and gunk. Use a soft cloth with club soda.
10 Put a piece of wax or glossed paper under your dust mop. This way not only are you cleaning the floors, but you are shining them at the same time with the paper.
Spring cleaning is a pain, but these tips and tricks should help you in your quest for a clean home.
