Spring Color Trends for the Bedroom

Pretty Spring Picks

The bedroom is a place to rewind in the evening and revitalize for the coming day. Spring bedroom colors are fresh; they should leave the occupant feeling either relaxed or rejuvenated or, perhaps, even both.

If your bedroom needs a fresh coat of paint this spring, that's great. If not, however, you can still incorporate fresh spring colors into your bedroom by setting a vase of fresh flowers next to your bed or by changing out the rugs.

Spring Bedroom Color: Spring blooms - Get your inspiration from the garden; what's your favorite flower? The color(s) of your favorite flower may be soft and refreshing or they may be bright and invigorating. Either way, it's your favorite flower for a reason. Look out your window and choose a flower-inspired color as the main or accent color in your bedroom.

Spring Bedroom Color: Primary hues - The primary colors are red, blue, and yellow. Choose one of these colors and build your color scheme around it. Keep in mind, though, that the bedroom is a place to unwind and that red and yellow may be agitating to some people. Perhaps a more muted shade of either color would be more relaxing.

Spring Bedroom Color: Blues - Blue is a color that is associated with water and nature. Choose a blue that is fresh and uplifting - don't do anything too dreary. Sky blues and the cool colors of the sea are fresh and pretty choices. Try Sherwin-Williams #6785 Quench Blue for your bedroom walls.

Spring Bedroom Color: Spring green - According to Wikipedia, spring green is a color that is precisely halfway between cyan and green. It also states that the complementary color of spring green is rose. Spring green and rose make a very pretty complementary color scheme for spring.

Spring Bedroom Color: Rose - Rose is not necessarily pink; it is halfway between red and magenta on the color wheel (magenta is a bright pink). Look for a misty rose this spring, or a French rose, or even just a classic rose color.

Spring Bedroom Color: Black (and white) - Black and white together can help create a clean, contemporary look. Throw in just a splash or two of color (bright red, vibrant yellow) this spring to keep it from getting dull and depressing.

While you are doing your spring cleaning this year, why not change up the color scheme in your bedroom a bit with some fresh, new spring hues? Soft lilac and magenta are always good spring picks but, if these are not your colors, go for sky blue, spring green, rose, or even a black and white color scheme.

However, no matter the color scheme you choose for your bedroom this spring, it should be something that refreshes you and makes you feel good.

Great article! It's really got me wanting to get to painting! I'm gonna get started on my bedroom. I need a total room makeover. I liked your article about a gallon of paint for the bathroom too! Thanks

I've had yellow bedrooms, and blue ones. One year I painted several rooms a pale pink, and it was a great color, really perky. This year I am considering a pale lavender with a bluish tint. I love painting a room to get a fresh look.

This was awesome, we'll be doing a Spring Bedroom-Makeover this year! I can't wait - I'm leaning towards 'rose' - I'll have to tell my husband that you said "it's not pink!" LOL Cheers :)
