Spring Crafts and Activities for the Whole Family to Enjoy

Bambi
Many people see spring as the time of renewal and growth. What better way to grow and renew your family bond than with spring crafts the whole family can participate in?

Coloring: The first thing I suggest you do as a family is color some spring pictures! You can find many coloring pages online or you can pick up a few cheap spring coloring books from the store. Coloring is something that almost everyone can participate in and it helps to reduce stress. Not only can it be a fun activity for everyone, but it's also a great opportunity to show off some of your child's new artwork on the refrigerator or on your bulletin board at the office.

Mosaic Pictures: This is a small step up from coloring. Get a bunch of colored paper, textured paper, any kind of paper at all and start cutting it up into squares. Draw out your own picture or just use a page from the coloring book, or if you want to get really creative, start out on blank paper and figure it out as you go. Make sure you have plenty of glue sticks and start gluing the colored paper to make a picture. Make a bunny, a bird, a big flower, anything. Imagination is the key! You may want to laminate the picture when everything is dry to frame it or to use as a placemat.

Bird Feeders: You can enjoy this simple project even after you're finished making it. Find some acorns, get some string or yarn, tie the piece of yarn toward the top of the acorn and make a loop. Then spread peanut butter all over the rest of the acorn. Roll it in birdseed and hang! It's fun and easy to make, and as an added plus you get to watch the birds enjoy your project.

Baking: Make some sugar cookies! If you don't feel like making them from scratch, you can still have fun finding the ones you can just pull a part and pop in the oven. Buy some icing and try decorating the finished cookies if you want. See who can get the most creative with designs and enjoy eating them as well.

There are so many great crafts and activities you can do for spring. Some other ideas would include:

-starting a scrapbook
-writing and illustrating a book
-planting flowers
-starting a bug collection
-doing a leaf collection
-making wind chimes
-making mobiles
-making play-doh
-making bubbles
-creating pictures with a learn-to-sew kit
-depending on ages, some actual sewing

I'm sure there are many other great ideas you could come up with together as a family, but the important part is just that: doing it together as a family.

Therefore, even if you can't think of your own ideas and would like to use the ones I mentioned, just be sure you do them as a family and enjoy your time bonding together.
