Sheer Curtains
When you add sheer curtains to a room, it allows the sunlight to enter. Sheer curtains also project the look of freshness, which is great for the new Spring season. Regardless if you select lace curtains or a sheer fabric, keep things light.
Remove Your Blinds
There is no need to keep things dark. Allow the sun's rays to shine in on your room. Just like the sheer curtains mentioned above, removing any blinds from your windows will allow the sunlight to enter and will help project a clean, crisp feeling to any room.
Accent With Pastels
A simple way to create a Spring theme is by using pastel colors in your accent pieces. This includes pillows, throws, curtains, and even a rug. When selecting a color for your room, think along the lines of a soft yellows, pinks or greens. Those colors remind us of the beauty that Spring brings each year.
Scent Your Home With Springtime Fragrance
Sight is not the only sense that we need to please with our Spring Theme. The nose is also in need of a wakeup call from the long, depressing winter. So why not add some pastel candles to your room in scents that remind you of Spring. Some suggestions include flower scents, tropical scents and a personal favorite: Yankee Candle's Clean Linen.
Bring Your Flower Garden Inside
You don't have to actually bring your flower garden inside, but do use flowers in your room. You can purchase a bright swag and hang it above a picture or you can make a beautiful floral arrangement for your dining room table. In fact, add a floral arrangement to every room! Or for those that have a green thumb, you can always purchase some small flower pots and start a nice indoor flower garden on your coffee table. It may look horrible for the first few weeks, but once the plants start growing and the flowers start blooming, your room will be the ultimate Spring haven.
A New Welcome Mat
During the Spring months, retail stores always stock their shelves with colorful welcome mats for your doorway. Not only do they come in a variety of sizes, they also come in a variety of themes -- including a theme for Spring.
Adding a inexpensive welcome mat in a Spring theme will let yours guests know that you are ready for the new season and will give a subtle hint at your newly Spring themed home.
A Springtime Flag
The flags that you hang outside your home can be a beautiful addition to any place. You can purchase a flag for every holiday and season, including Spring. By adding a Spring themed flag to your home, you will be sharing the love of the season not only to your family and guests, but to neighbors as well.
As you can see, you can transform any part of your home into a Spring themed wonderland! All it takes is a little imagination and a love for the season.
