At the entryway:
The entryway to your home is a first impression, a welcome, and a foretaste of the rest of your home all in one. Set some baskets on the porch with pansies or daffodils. A wreath on the door makes an excellent welcome. For a quick, easy wreath, get one of all ivy and add your own silk flowers to match the flower baskets. Get rid of the heavy winter doormat that people tracked snow, mud, and ice melter in all winter and get a bright new doormat with a springtime motif.
In the Livingroom:
Put away the entire throw blankets. If you still like to cover up on the couch, get some light colored throws in cotton or other lightweight fabrics. Coordinate some brightly colored throw pillows to match. If you use candles for décor, get colored candles to match the throw pillows, or use white ones. Fill some colored vases or baskets with flowers and set on the coffee table and end tables
Remove heavy drapes and replace them with lighter sheers. You can use mini-blinds under the sheer curtains if you need privacy. Or, just use mini-blinds and wrap silk ivy around the curtain rods for an elegant touch. This will dramatically lighten up the livingroom for a sunny springtime effect.
You might want to add a water fountain that has lights. This will give your livingroom the ambience of being close to a stream or river. This is a very nice effect to bring Mother Nature inside.
In the Kitchen:
Clear away as much clutter from the countertops as possible to create a more open feeling space in your kitchen. If you don't use the toaster every day, or other appliances that are setting on the counter collecting dust, put it in a cupboard. Place flowers or bowls of fresh fruit out instead.
If you have room, get some colored vases and put them on the windowsills or by the windows to catch the light. You can use clear vases with colored water in them as well. This looks very nice as the sunlight shines through.
In the Dining room:
If you use a tablecloth, get a white one for spring. You can use a bright colored runner to jazz that up. For the centerpiece, try some small vases grouped together on a crystal-serving dish. You can also add a few crystal candleholders with white or brightly colored candles to add to the ambience. If you don't want to use more flowers, you could fill a crystal bowl with lemons and limes. Then use yellow or lime green candles in the crystal candleholders to accent the citrus center piece.
In the bedroom:
Take down heavy curtains and use blinds instead. Even the blinds that are specially made to block out most light will create a lighter ambience to your bedroom than the look of a heavy curtain. You can find them in many colors, from white, to springtime yellow. White wood blinds make a very nice statement and also do a great job of blocking out the light.
Change the bedding from flannel sheets and heavy comforters to cotton or silk sheets and a lightweight bedspread. If you use a lot of pillows, replace the darker ones with colors such as white, yellow, lime green, or light blue. You can accent those colors with a couple of throw rugs for a pulled together look.
You might want to think about some aromatherapy for your room too. Pick scents like Asian Citrus, or Sage. This will keep your room smelling fresh and green.
In the Bathroom:
Put some silk flowers, like daffodils or daisies in a clear vase in your bathroom. Also, take out dark colored towels and replace them with bright colors. Striped towels in spring colors look great! Get a bright shower curtain and use a clear liner to immediately brighten up the room. Or, just opt for the clear liner for an even fresher appearance. It's also nice to set out guest soap in the shape of flowers or seashells. This is also a perfect room to have some fresh smelling potpourri or other aromatherapy in. Choose citrus or a flowery smell for this room.
Use your imagination and have fun. When you are finished adding springtime touches to each room in your home, you will feel like you are living in a beautiful spring garden.

Great ideas. Good luck on your SCO submission!
I've bought myself fresh flowers twice a month for years. It really brightens my day.
Your house must be lovely. I love the fresh fruit idea, though in our climate it's tricky. Have to use small bowls that will get eaten in a day. (And I love those monster bowls!) Flowers always add a nice touch.
Great decorating tips! I'm ready for spring.
