Spring Jackets; 5 Great Choices Under $50

As the ice begins to thaw and the sun pops it's head out of the clouds, the temperatures start rising and spring is near. Many look forward to the chance to put away their heavy winter clothing and embrace the fresh, clean air of spring. However, spring can still carry a bit of winter chill and there is still at times a necessity for a nice, lightweight, durable jacket to have on hand for a rainstorm or breezy day. With this in mind, this is a three part series of articles to explore the various jackets being offered in 2010 with a budget for everyone.

For less than fifty bucks, you can pick up a great looking spring coat. One of the first ones to catch my eye is sold by Target. It is a trench coat style of rain coat. It comes with a belt for the waist and is just a bit shorter than the thighs. This coat would look great with business clothing or dress clothing. It also featured two side pockets and a zip front.

Denim jackets are a classic spring jacket. They look great for casual outings and can be paired with tank tops and skirts for a dressy casual look. Fashion Bug is offering an updated denim jacket this spring. For 29.99 you can't go wrong with this classic staple in your closet. It has three quarter length sleeves rather than the longer, heavier jean jackets.

If your big concern in a jacket this spring is that you will be enjoying a day of sunshine with the family and rain may put a damper on the day, you might consider an inexpensive poncho. A poncho such as the one made by Totes, a great company for rainy day accessories, can often be folded up and zipped into a pouch or purse style bag. This can be carried easily and will always be readily available. In addition, you can save your style from being ruined by the wet weather while you continue to enjoy your day or make your quick escape to a dry indoors.

If your feeling a bit daring this spring or want a jacket that will look great on motorcycle rides, enjoying the night life, and more then you might want to take a look at this pleather jacket sold by Hot Topic. It does not require dry cleaning and wipes clean. It is also an expensive option to add a new option to your existing wardrobe.

I must admit, it was enjoyable to peruse the Modcloth website. Some of the imaginative and creative names they give their jackets. But I did stumble on quite a few that were really great finds! One fun but classical piece was the Matador Bolero. This is a very short jacket with decorative buttons on the sides. This piece would look great paired over a short cocktail dress or with a camisole and pair of jeans for a more casual evening. There are so many wonderful combinations possible with a piece like this. It has a very retro feel while also maintaining a new, fresh look. If you enjoyed jacket hunting with me for those great deals under fifty dollars, be sure and check out part two where we will explore the deals for under seventy five dollars!

We go right from winter to 80 degrees, no need for spring jackets, most stores don't sell them.
