Spring lesson plans for preschoolers

Springtime will be around the corner before we know it. It is a time to spring clean and to enjoy the beautiful, warm weather. Children have the time of their lives during the winter season but more so in the warmer climate.

The activities are unlimited for children to enjoy. The imaginations of children are unbelievable. The things they come up with are amazing. Teachers have an opportunity to teach our children about the Earth and spring.

A bug jar is a cute inexpensive activity. This teaches them about Mother Nature and her beautiful creatures. Empty jars such as mayonnaise or pickle jars are a perfect size. These need to be washed thoroughly before using. The lids to the jars do not have to be reused and can be thrown away.

A piece of colored felt and a rubber band will make a perfect substitute for a lid. This gives the jar more of a cute appearance. Alphabet stickers can be used to decorate the jar with the child's name. This personalizes it, making it theirs. This jar is now ready to catch fireflies.

A bumble bee handprint is adorable. The preschoolers need to trace both their left and right hands. The hands will become the legs of the bumble bee. The palms are the body where they are joined together. The hands need to be traced and cut out on yellow construction paper. Black paper will be needed to make the eyes and so forth.

A thumb print garden is a beautiful activity for preschoolers. Flowers are a big part of Mother Nature. Thumb and finger prints are the perfect size to make flowers. A garden is full of beauty, and children love to play with paint. The thumb print garden gives them the opportunity to decorate and play with paint.

Preschoolers are full of excitement and imagination. Teachers can show their little students Mother Nature's true beauty and her critters upfront and personal. Kids love to create things with their hands. These lesson plans will teach them how to use their imagination and about the spring season. A little bit of imagination can go far. These lessons can even teach them about their colors.

Spring is full of life and beauty, and children will learn how to appreciate nature with these lessons.
