Spring Paint Color Combinations for Your Kitchen

3 Bold Color Palette Ideas

Tonya Hillukka
Bold colors are great for the kitchen, especially if you plan on remodeling in the spring. They are inspirational and give the cooking area a fresh perspective. Are you looking for color ideas that will motivate you to come up with new dishes to cook this spring? That's what I am here for; I have come up with three great spring color palettes for the kitchen, each of which incorporates bold colors that you can use as either an accent or as your main color.

Cranberry Cocktail

Benjamin Moore's Cranberry Cocktail was the inspiration for this color palette. It is a deep red, just like a cranberry cocktail, or a deep red wine. Use it as your wall color (or, if your kitchen is large, just as an accent wall color), paired with dark, espresso stained cabinets. Pale gray stainless steel appliances and brushed nickel cabinet pulls will look great with this color combination. Add some dark black countertops with white flecks, and you will truly have a cranberry cocktail-inspired kitchen this spring.

The colors: cranberry, espresso, light gray, black, and white

Verdant Essence

Greens are definitely "in" right now, but not the light, sage-like color you may be imagining. Instead, picture a bold, mossy green, like Sherwin-Williams' Verdant. It may not sound very appealing but, paired with the right colors, moss green could look great in your kitchen this spring. I'm thinking it would make a great wall color, if you were to paint the top two-thirds and finish it off with a light beige painted wainscoting. Golden brown stained cabinets would only add to the warmth. Finish the look with some red and white accents.

The colors: moss green, golden brown, light beige, red, and white

Fiery Opal

Orange, but not too orange, Benjamin Moore's Fiery Opal would look stunning with white accents. It is a deep, almost-red orange, that will be sure to heat up your kitchen this spring - and I'm not talking temperature-wise. I think this bold hue would look great as a wall color with white trim, perhaps even white wainscoting, and khaki colored cabinets. For the cabinet hardware, oil-rubbed bronze is a popular finish that would look great with this color combination. A little bit of yellow - perhaps in the form of freshly cut flowers - will add the finishing touch to this warm color scheme.

The colors: fiery opal, khaki, white, bronze, and yellow
