Spring for SIDS: Everyone Can Participate in This Annual Event

Manda Spring
SIDS, or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, is the number one killer of babies in America. This article was designed to help raise awareness and educate people of this terrible occurrence so that many lives will be saved. Every year an event takes place that gathers people from all over the country to show their support for the research, and help to enlighten people as to this silent killer and its victims. The event is called 'Spring for SIDS'.

Spring for SIDS: Overview

To give you a better insight as to what we are trying to accomplish with this event I will explain it further so you can decide if you would like to joins the hundreds of thousands of people that will be raising awareness and promoting proper education where SIDS is concerned.

After making a small $5 donation to the SIDS cause, you are then given a sticker. On April 8th, you then wear your cutest spring outfit and display your sticker proudly. This will often open the doors of communication to those around you. No matter the avenue that is opened- whether it is about your attire or the sticker you can take that opportunity to explain a little about the cause and the victims that die each and every year.

The following is from the American SIDS Institute:

"Volunteer today to be a Spring-for-SIDS Captain at your company. A kit will be provided to all Captains, including posters, stickers, donation cards and sign-up sheets - everything you need to coordinate the event where you work. Everyone at your company will have fun and will feel good about being part of this effort to end SIDS. To learn more about Spring-for-SIDS, or to volunteer, go to www.springforsids.org"

The kind of jerks that downrate an article about SIDS are lower than pond scum. I wouldn't wish the loss of a child to SIDS even on them. Unfortunately, adults can't get it or I would have a different point of view about wishing it on them. Keep writing Manda! And ignore the pond scum.

Hello guys! I wouldn't worry about the voting system, it is really no big deal- it is more of a joke than anything else. Thanks for coming by... I am so freakin busy that I only get to come here once or twice a week and usually it is only to submit and read my favorite cp's , and usually I don't have the time to read all of them. That's the bummer of being a busy writer I guess. My appearances are usually given to me at the last minute (within a week of the designated spot) but if you don't get a newsletter you can contact me for updates on events. Sorry if I seem rushed... I do appreciate your comments and time... Have a great day!!

Yep, you nailed it. They know who they are and so do most writers here on AC like me. Unfortunately nothing is ever done and they are able to act like fools to their hearts content. Just laugh at them and move on. We all know this writer is one of the best on this site and jealousy is a pesky thing but is very evident here- her work will never suffer especially at the hands of ignorant pieces of sh@! like the ones who down rate articles like they keep doing to her.

That's pretty screwed up that this article was on the top rated only a couple hours ago... I guess T.S. T.R. J.M and that little bunch of rejects had their way with the down voting yet again.... nice job jerks... (lol) it truly is pathetic how a good article like this gets down voted. Don't worry Manda there are a lot of people behind you and this cause. It was a well done piece. Don't let bums and retarded individuals like the ones running rampant on this site get you down. Thank you for the public announcement on ch 8 about this site- P.S. when is your next spot?

My husband lost his infant daughter to SIDS. You've got my attention. Thanks.

I've lost family members to SIDS and will do whatever I can to find a cure. If possible, I'll be at the event. If not, I'll make a donation. Good luck with it!
