Spring Television Shows for Single Moms

Gary Davis
Probably the one person who gets to watch television the least should get to watch it the most and that is a busy single mom. So are there shows this spring that will entertain her? Let's take a look.

Right off the bat there is "Shear Genius." This show features 12 contestants going up against one another with basic hair styling tools in order to win the coveted Shear Genius crown. This show will be on Bravo and will be broadcast April 11th at 11 pm ET. This should be fun for a single mom to watch because she may want to be getting ready for that next date.

I think a single mom would like "Painkiller Jane" because it is one woman battling the ills of society. It will be especially appealing if mom likes Science Fiction. Painkiller Jane can feel pain but cannot be killed. It is her job to keep evil people at bay. It seems to me that a single mom might like this as part of her viewing diet. After all, you can only watch so much warm and fuzzy stuff and, I view a single mom like Painkiller Jane-invincable.

"Painkiller Jane" will Premier on February 14th on the Sci-Fi Channel at 10 pm ET. The star is Kristanna Loken who was the female robot in Terminator III.

A new twist on a drama with soap opera overtones is "The Riches." They assume the lives of people who have been killed. It is on Mondays at 10 pm ET on FX. The stars are Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver. I predict this show will be a winner.

If mom has musical talent or is an aspiring (or even if she isn't) she may truly enjoy the "Pussycat Dolls Present" which basically lets women vie to be part of an existing musical group. This show will be shown at 9 pm ET on CW.

Finally I heartily recommend going to Fox for reruns of "Friends." This situation is one that is conducive to keeping hopes up and a smile on your face and that may be just what is needed for the single mom.

While these are some of my suggestions television programs are a very personal issue. Just because a woman is a single mom she does not automatically fall into a certain category.

Whatever time you decide to spend in front of the television just remember as a single mom you no doubt have earned every minute of relaxation.
