Today was a beautiful day, and the day will not be wasted! I was already on my way to the park, oh the park! I love the park! Waving at all the passersby with a smile I've kept inside for quite some time. I was on the top of the world I know walking on the grass earth's fine hair. The park had a giant lake in the middle that made a big horseshoe shape, and though up close the water was murky and slightly greenish blue. From a distance it reflected like a diamond shiny mirror. The lake mimicked the great blue sky for a moment as if I'd been staring into another dimension, one similar yet distorted. The lake is not a silent creature. A home to many things it is, of fish of frogs and turtles on logs!
Something quickly caught my eye, and hers I caught as she caught mine. What a sweet surprise, a lovely prize. Now I'm not usually the forward type but springtime life just fueled my fight. "Hello miss" I said with a loving glance. She smiled, blushed, and walked right passed. Any other day of life, I'd have not given up a fight. Today was different, a spring of love. I won't let her fly away, my dove. "Please" I said "Don't leave so fast, let's walk and talk and help time pass." She stopped a minute, and studied my eyes. So deep in fact she read my mind. Her hair was waving in the spring breeze, and I smelt her smell, her lovely smell. My knees came weak before she spoke, and when she did my heart awoke. "I'm a little old fashioned" she said at last. I shook her hand and said hello, she took mine and said "Let's go"
We walked around the lake all day, and talked and talked the steps away. We spoke of childish things, and memories of things that once filled our simple lives with love and glee. She grabbed my hands and danced with me. We laughed and played like good old days, and thought of times and simple days. When work was what our parents did. And fun and love was all we did. We laughed we loved, my precious dove. I tried to kiss her imagined lips, but she was never there to begin with, just a symbol of my spring love.
