Spring and Travel Safety Advice

Many of us (and especially students) will take a break from our normal lifestyles this spring to enjoy ourselves in different ways. Because of this, there are safeties reminders that we need to know or remember as we plan and embark upon our individual or group journey.

One of the most essential points to remember is to always tell someone where you are going or traveling to. This include where, the day and time you are leaving and the returned time or day. This way, they will know where you are and how to check-up on your safety and welfare, if need be.

Leaving contact information (such as a telephone number or the name of a person) is critically important. Students, for example, who are young in age or are teens, need to know that this is essential. Parents must always have a way to reach their kids while they are having spring fun on trips, camping or travel overseas. A telephone number is the simplest way, but a contact name and address of an adult also helps.

When traveling overseas (or even to another State within the USA, for example) it is a must that we know and follow the laws and rules of that place. Overseas countries have very different and sometimes harsh laws that if broken, can produce serious problems for visitors - such as students. No parent will want to know that his/her child has become a prisoner in another country while visiting for fun and excitement. This has in fact happened to others so it is not a matter to take likely. Many Asian and European countries laws are very strict, so parents and their kids need to take extra precautions and avoid breaking serious laws that will only produce discomfort, sadness, stress, legal and financial problems.

Protecting your personal belongings (essential documents such as a passport, credit/debit cards, driver's license and others) is really essential to your daily enjoyment while on spring vacation. For example, who can say that they will enjoy themselves if their passport to return home (if overseas) is lost or stolen and their monies for spending and having fun are also stolen or lost. These are critical documents to always keep safe. If students are traveling with adults, the adults must help and take extra precautions to keep the above safe. The hotel or guest house of owners/official can be approached for special safety arrangements. Protecting your documents while enjoying vacations helps to eliminate anxiety and distress that can spoil the fun that you expect to have on spring break or vacation.

Another issue has to do with personal medical attention. Some people are allergic to many things. Young children, for example, will need extra monitoring to make sure they are not exposed to things that are harmful to them, by carelessness or accident. Great health precautions are necessary. A small health first-aid kit will also help. Adults who have experience with kids and trips, will need to remember this so they can be prepared for those little health issues that can often turnout to spoil an entire trip.

There are many more reminders but the above will help. Everyone who is planning a trip or vacation for Spring Break, for example, will need to take the time and ensure that all plans and precautionary methods are in place to protect themselves. Parent s and guardians will need to look-out for the kids who are not able to know and understand the needed extra precautions. No one really wants to go on a trip, for example, and discover that it will end as soon as it started because they forgot to follow and remember the precautionary things needed to help them enjoy themselves.
