Springfest in Ocean City, Maryland

I live in Maryland and one of our attractions is Ocean City Maryland, just a short 150 miles from Baltimore. You can drive there in a few hours right down route 50. Every year Ocean City offers Springfest and Sunfest. Springfest this year starts in May 1, 2008 and runs through May 4, 2008. At the spring fest you can kick off the summer season, this is a time to enjoy the begining of spring and jump start the summer. There are regional and national entertainment that are offered for our enjoyment.

When you come into Ocean City, go to the Southern end parking lot, at the end of the Boardwalk, there you will find the vendors set up to sell their arts and crafts, there is no admission charge for this portion of Springfest, so feel free to wander around and enjoy the days. This year there will be over 30 food vendors selling everyhting from crab cakes to Thrashers Boardwalk fries, have to have them with vinegar and salt, only way to really enjoy those fries.

Every year when they have springfest you head toward the convention center near 60th street. This year there are three headline acts that there is a charge for, Beatlemania Again is on Thrusday night, and their tickets are the least expensive. Emerson Drive is a country group that will be performing on Friday night, then on Saturday they are actually having Three Dog Night.

It is a wonderful time, but you have to make your reservations early. We always stay up past 100th street, the condo's there are the best in my opinion. Try the Marylander House on 125th street, right next to the beach, indoor pool and if you have pets that you want to take along, they can have a condo for you and your dog or cat. There is plenty of parking and the resturants are great.
