Springing Forth

C. Love
Subsequent subzero temperatures
Exterminating pests and threatening vegetation
Evidence of winter's rage
No visible signs of life
An eerie stillness looms
Slowly the soil warms
As precipitation falls
A blade of grass breaks the earth's surface
Resurgence
Blowing winds of life stir
Buds become visible
Vibrant colors wash out gloom and gray
More than a change in the atmosphere
On the contrary
A rebirth of purpose and faith
Spring is not simply a season
It's a fresh start

I love springtime - and not only in the spring, but anytime there's a fresh start to something.
