Spring's Embrace

Ruth Carter
As my bare feet cross over the lush green,

I feel the breeze blow through my hair.

Warm sunshine caresses my face,

And I breathe the fresh, fragrant air.

I see the brilliant hues of the flowers to come,

I hear the whispers of lovers' promises to be true

To be forever one another's

Never to fall prey to another's sweet words or woos.

This glorious season embraces me

With its colors and its enchantments

I see God's poetry in motion

His artwork needs no enhancements.

I see the sparkling eyes of my children,

The green, colorful garden that my husband has planted,

I sit with my love on a soft blanket

And am as if in a dream enchanted.
