Thanks to this release, Sprint has stolen the headlines all over the world, many arguing that this might just be the first step into a new era in terms of mobile broadband devices. In a nutshell, by expanding its 4G network and also unveiling this new modem, the company is giving its clients a head start, allowing them to accommodate to the new technologies more easily. Looking at the big picture, the mobile operator is making history.
This Sprint modem, besides the fact that it allows access to the highly appreciated now 3G network, also offers, in the same package, the super speeds and super capabilities that the new 4G network brings. Actually, for the moment, the package couldn't be "fuller," since the 3G network is extremely reliable and users are already used to it, but, in addition, the advantages that the 4G one offers really enhance the capabilities of this device enormously. The speeds of Internet downloads and uploads will be much higher and much more appealing to the users, thus the efficiency of the modem will be taken to a whole different level, whereas the enhanced multimedia quality throughout 4G markets will keep users always pleased and wishing for more.
Dan Hesse, Sprint's CEO, stated, regarding the matter at hand, that "Sprint intends to be the leader in 4G and bring the wireless Internet to life[...]This first-of-its-kind device allows our customers to take the Internet with them essentially wherever they go by gaining enhanced speed and capability in 4G markets and the nationwide coverage of our 3G network across the rest of the country."
The U300, manufactured by Franklin Wireless, connects through its USB port and will offer businessmen, for example, the possibility to stay connected to anyone outside the office, at the same time enjoying the high speed and excellent browsing and downloading abilities the device comes with.
The release date has been already set for December 21st and the device goes for $149.99 on a two year deal and after a $50 rebate plus the $79.99 for the 3G and 4G services included.
