This article will cover the Sprite Darter Hatchling non-combat vanity pet available to players within World of Warcraft Cataclysm. This guide will cover various details about the pet as well as how both Horde and Alliance players should go about trying to attain the creature. You can also find pictures of the Sprite Darter Hatchling in the upper right corner which you can click on to make larger.
Sprite Darter Hatchling is a non-combat pet that is acquired through grinding the loots of various mobs within a specific zone of Azeroth. In particular this pet is a zone drop for all of Feralas, with every creature within having a one in a thousand chance to drop the Sprite Darter Egg that teaches your character how to summon this creature. Unlike most zone or mob drops, the Sprite Darter Hatchling actually binds when it is picked up, making it impossible to trade for through the auction house, an unfortunate note for those who aren't looking forward to the massive grind awaiting them. On the offhand the one benefit is that this hurts the ability for farmers to make it a pain to acquire this pet. Although it may be remotely possible that this pet can come out of a Satchel of Exotic Mysteries, it has yet to have been reported, making that an undependable source.
The Sprite Darter Hatchling is a unique high quality pet, with a model looking somewhat like a chameleon with wings and eyebrow feathers. Possibly the biggest draw of this companion is the texture of it, which has to be quite possibly the most brilliant and close to being the most intricate of all currently available pets, especially those that don't require some kind of real money purchase outside of the game. It can be clicked to trigger random vocals and will fly alongside your character while mounted and in the air but is without any special animations, not that it really needs that to stand out.
