I became slightly addicted to the acidic burn that it left in the back of my throat, so I began to drink it at least three times a week. After a couple of months, though, I decided to stop drinking pop altogether because all of the high fructose corn syrup and other artificial ingredients were starting to make me feel like crap.
So when I saw a billboard advertising Sprite's new Green soda I got excited because I thought that this would be a healthier alternative to the regular Sprite that I love. It took me a few weeks to find it in a store, but I recently saw it carried in a 7/11 so I decided to try it.

Taste of
Sprite Green
Upon drinking the Sprite Green I noticed that it doesn't taste like an exact substitute for regular Sprite. The Green drink was sweet like normal sodas, but because of the stevia extract there's a slight bitter after taste. I've used stevia before so it doesn't really bother me, but it is noticeable. Also regular Sprite has a thicker syrupy texture because of the corn syrup, while the Sprite Green doesn't. I'm sure this thick texture isn't good for you, but it just feels more comforting.
Also it's not flavored exactly like Sprite. It starts off smooth and sweet, but then the taste of lemon juice hits. It's not that refreshing because it's a bit strong, and there's a noticeable salty taste that I didn't really enjoy. The end result tastes Sprite-like, but it wasn't as tasty. It actually reminded me of the medicine magnesium citrate because of the salty, lemon flavor.
In the End
If I was comparing Sprite Green to regular Sprite, I would say that regular Sprite tastes better because I'm used to all of the artificial sweeteners and other chemical ingredients. But on it's own Sprite Green isn't that bad. I don't really like the saltiness, and the stevia flavors, might taste too sweet for some, but I still enjoyed it. It's not something I'd want to crack open everyday but if I was in the mood for a healthier lemon lime drink, I would definitely drink it again. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
