On August 8th, a 5-year veteran seller on the popular auction website eBay listed a pair of "knickers" and an empty condom wrapper found in her bed after returning home early from work. Today the item, which now just includes a photo of the garments because of E-bay's strict auction guidelines about used underwear, shot from $242.00 to an astounding and still progressing sum of thousands.
According to the story she included with the listing, shortly after she left for work one morning she received a text message from her husband of 22 years that read, "Where are you darling, I'm waiting." Feeling sick and suspicious, she left work early, arriving home to find her husband on the couch watching TV. Her doubts were further raised when her husband, who she says, "had never made her a cup of tea in over 22 years" offered to fetch her the beverage and suggested she lie down on the couch to rest.
She reports that she immediately ran to her bedroom, discovering signs that someone else had been in her bed. Peeling back the blankets she found the condom wrapper and moments later, the underwear. Incredibly, she writes, her husband tried to explain the condom away by saying he used it as a glove to fish his phone (which he had texted her mistakenly with) out of the toilet where it had fallen accidentally. He pushed the envelope further by proclaiming to be a closeted transvestite when she demanded an excuse for the underwear, which she describes in her listing as "size humongous."
She finishes her story by relating that she tossed him and his clothes out the door along with his keys and wallet. But not before she snatched something very important from the keyring; the key to his prized "Harley Hog". You can almost see her satisfied smile as she ends her listing promising it may be the next item she offers up for bid - starting at 99 cents, with no reserve.
