Last year, the school held a silent auction, and I was lucky enough to win a gift certificate. My cousin, also won a prize in the raffle, and lucky for her, she didn't need to be there to collect. When I heard that the proceeds from the raffle tickets were going to help the parish and the Junior High class trips, I wanted to buy a few.
Like every year, Irish dancers will be performing, and if you've never seen Irish dancers, you're in for a treat. Prior to the event, I was never too familiar with Irish music, but I can tell you that it was so beautiful, I even bought myself an Irish music CD after last year's Wearin' the Green.
I'm hoping that this year, we'll be treated to the same and I actually found out that the school added a rock and roll cover band to perform. Prior to the event, you can go online and browse the silent auction items up for bid, so you'll be ready, once the time comes. The proceeds not only go to the parish and school, but a portion of the funds raised also go to charitable ministries.
