Beautiful Hikes and Lakeside View at the St.Edwards State Park, Seattle, Washington
While getting back from the lake to the St. Edwards Park, there are two trail options, one that is 0.6 miles and easy. The other hike is 0.4 miles and a little bit tough. The 0.4 mile hike is full of ups and downs. There is a bench amidst the trail, so the hikers can take some rest and continue the hike.
You can meet a lot of people on the way, along with their eager pets, mostly dogs. The lake at the end of the hike makes you forget all the fatigue and exhaustion. You cannot stop admiring the natural scenic beauty of the place. Those who are interested in collected stones and pebbles, St. Edwards Park lake may be a good idea to explore.
There is a huge parking space at the entrance which is quite near to the trail. There is a Catholic seminary church within the St. Edwards Park. Now it houses facilities like a swimming pool, a gymnasium, an indoor swimming pool, all the facilities for hosting a banquet.
Outside the Church school, there are several picnic tables. You can always pack some food and carry it along with you. After the hike, you can sit in the sunny park benches and have a great picnic lunch or breakfast. Keep a garbage bag along with you to avoid littering around.
There is also a large playground for kids, swings and slides for the smaller kids. There is a lawn and courts made for playing a game of soccer with a small group of friends. However, the park area does not allow any kind of camping. Moreover, dogs need to be put on a leash and supervised by the owners at all times.
The 0.6 mile hike with small serpentine bends along with the greenery of trees and small shrubs make you forget the outside world. One can also bike around the park, take a walk or a jog. Pets are also allowed at the park. The dogs can have a good time swimming in the lake too.
The huge expanse of the lake allows the visitors to go kayaking, boating, swimming during the summer. During the winters, the area is chilly and cold. Hence swimming may not be such a great idea. However, you can go kayaking or boating anytime of the year.
