St. Johns Wort Mole Removal Home Treatment

Sarah Rachel
St. John's wort is an herb commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, as well as to cope with stress or mood swings. But you can also use St. John's wort to remove moles. This treatment involves the most potent, concentrated form of the herb. Tinctures that have high levels of the herb concentrate and little of other ingredients like alcohol are more effective.

Cleanse
Cleanse your skin with a mild cleanser. Exfoliate with a gentle scrub to remove any dead skin or excess dirt. Do not use this remedy if you have open lesions or sores. (If your mole is changing rapidly, see your doctor or dermatologist.) Pat your skin dry with a soft cloth. Never rub or scrub your skin. Be patient when removing moles. This process can take several weeks with natural methods.

Buy the most concentrated form of St. John's wort oil available. The herbal capsules will not be concentrated enough to penetrate into the mole. You can usually find this herb in tincture form at your local health food store or online. Avoid buying products with excess alcohol or other fillers. You will also need to buy duct tape as part of this procedure.

Application

Apply five drops of St. John's wort oil directly to your mole and rub in thoroughly. Allow the mixture to sink in for 30 minutes until it is completely dry. Once your mole is dry, cut a piece of duct tape three times the size of the mole. Be sure the tape is bigger than the mole itself so that it covers it completely. Apply this duct tape patch directly to your mole and press down so that it is very secure on your skin. This type of tape has a strong adhesion so it should work well. Leave the duct tape on for one week before removing. Be careful not to get the tape wet when you take a shower. When you remove the tape, your mole may come right off with it, however if you have a large, deep-rooted, stubborn mole, you may need to repeat the treatment several times before the root dies. Apply the St. Johns wort oil again and proceed with the same steps.
