St. Patrick's Day will be a day of fun events and celebrations. This article will detail some events local to Seattle, Washington.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Seattle will start at about 12:30 P.M., and begins at 4th Avenue at Jefferson in downtown Seattle. The parade continues until about 2 P.M., where it ends at the Seattle Center. The monorail is free from noon to 3 P.M., so use this to travel from the Westlake Park to the Seattle Center. Seniors and the disabled are welcome to take the "Seniors Shamrock Shuttle", which runs throughout the parade. There are usually face painting stations and coloring stations near the front of the parade on 4th avenue.

Owl 'n Thistle Irish Pub

While this pub in Seattle is certainly not for kids, adults are free to enjoy the live music and open spaces. The majority of music in this venue is that of upbeat folk music. Seattle is rich in it's Irish history, and the Owl 'n Thisle does not slack on St. Patrick's Day. The Owl 'N Thisle has a wide variety of brews, with the emphasis on Guinness. Cheap food is also available with special food on St. Patrick's Day. Expect the pub to be bustling with people on St. Patrick's Day. The Pub is located at 808 Post Ave, and is open from 11am to 2pm.

Woodland Park Zoo

The best place to take your kids on St. Patrick's Day besides the Seattle Parade would probably be the Woodland Park Zoo. The Zoo is always bustling with face painting areas and other various games and activities on St. Patrick's Day. The zoo has over 1090 individual animals and almost 300 species. Expect your kids to have an excellent time at the zoo on St. Patrick's Day.
