Fado Irish Pub is my favorite place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. It is located at 808 7th St NW 202-789-0066. This place is great because it has plenty of room. The service is exceptional and the menu is that of a typical Irish pub but the taste is superior. My favorite dish is their version of potato skins. The place is themed in wood, stained glass, stone wall with relic type items.
Finn McCool's is another fantastic place to enjoy St. Patrick's Day. It is located at 713 8th St SE 202-547-7100 between S G St and S I St. This is one clean pub. There is a lounge on the first floor that is nice for conversation. They have a nice selection of brews. They also have a great selection of Irish coffee, something to enjoy on any day but especially in honor of St. Patrick! The have $10 bottomless mimosas/ bloody mary's. They are huge and you can switch between the two. They also have pitchers of beer flavored water for about $10. They also have $5 appetizers and lots of TVs to watch the games that are one. The service is great! They have an amazing three cheese mac and cheese that is to die for!
The last place I suggest for your St. Patrick's Day festivities is Biddy Mulligan's. Biddy's is located at 1500 New Hampshire Ave NW (Jury's Hotel) 202-483-6000. This is an average pub but I highly recommend checking it out and have Guinness in honor of St. Pat this year because the pub closed Oct. 31st last year for renovations and is reopening just in time for St. Patrick's Day party this year. It was a nice place so I am very interested in knowing what is better. The menu is more American Irish so if you are looking for a traditional Irish menu, you need to continue walking. The Sheppard's pie is highly recommended.
So come experience St. Patrick's Day in our Nation's capital- Washington DC and check out these recommended party options. I am sure one of these options will tickle your fancy!
Happy St. Patrick's Day to each of you and your familes!
