An Irish Pub is always a fun, traditional way to spend your St. Patrick's day. This year the holiday happens to fall on a Saturday which makes many happy since it is during the weekend. Below find a few favorite Irish Pubs for your St. Patrick's day celebration in Philadelphia.
Finnigan's Wake
This Irish bar has been around a while, and is also a place that a tourist should make sure to visit. Its second floor is dedicated to the Irish 69th Brigade and Abraham Lincoln. So, not only do you get great Irish food, beer and atmosphere; you also get history and culture. Enjoy all things potato whether it's the sweet potato fries or the potato soup as well as the traditional fair such as Shepherd's pie.
Finnigan's Wake is located at 537 N. 3rd Street.
The Bards
Located at 2013 Walnut Street, The Bards is popular amongst those who favor Irish Pubs. On St. Patrick's day, if you wear green during certain hours, you can get Guniness Pints for $5. St. Patrick's day is usually a whole day party, so be ready for some fun and some specials. They also serve the traditional Bangers and Mash, onion soup, sausage rolls and pub food as well as items that are Gluten Free. And don't forget the Smithwicks Ale, Magners Cider and Palm Amber.

Fado
This Irish pub, which is in downtown Philly, certainly won't disappoint the St. Paddy's day connoisseur. Fado actually means "long ago" which means how long ago, or how long it has been, that Ireland has had Irish pubs. Enjoy their Saturday night dance party along with pints of Guiness, corned beef rolls, Trinity steak boxty and other Irish treats such as Guinness ice cream or Boddingtons Draught beer.
Fado is located at 1500 Locust Street.
