I'm NOT Irish, that I know.
At least, I don't think so.
But then, there's my Granddad,
Whom I suspect
Simply by demeanor and retrospect
To be more than a wee bit Irish,
And that is my I wish.
Although a big man, gentle, he could be.
His pot of gold, a large family.
And fond memories, I hold dear
Even though it has been many a year.
Maybe that is why St. Patrick's Day will always be
A special celebration of the heart for me.
And to all the cousins (I MIGHT claim),
