There was a wee man named Marty,
Who never said no to a party.
Once when doing an Irish jig,
He even danced with a pig.
While thinking he was Laurel and Hardy.
In honor of my Irish friend Marty who died about 6 years ago. He had been sober for 40 years. He was an amazing, funny man that inspired many people including me. I was with him the night that he died.
Every year Marty had a St. Patrick's Day party with his homemade sourdough bread and a potluck for all of his recovering alcoholic friends.
I don't think that Marty ever actually danced with a pig!
Rest in peace dear friend I will see you on the other side. I hope you are enjoying the beautiful emerald fields of your beloved Ireland.

Post a CommentA wonderful tribute. Well done!
Shana, this is a very touching tribute to your friend. But I'm a bit muddled (as Glinda said to Dorothy). I know I've read this before. And commented. But it shows no comments in the comment section right now. Hope it's just a temporary glitch!
