St. Patrick's Day Poems - Fun Limericks

Green Beer and Limericks

JUNEANN REED
We had fun sitting around the room and making up limericks to celebrate the day of the Irish. No, none of us are Irish, except for that time of year - but that doesn't mean we can't have fun.

You could theme an entire party around Irish limericks and green beer. Have fun!

A couple of limericks for you to enjoy - or not.

There was a silly old dog named Dale
He drank all the hooch from the pail,
Then he circled around
And fell to the ground
From his throat came a terrible wail.

There was a young girl named Sadie
A lovely green eyed, red-haired lady,
She came from the Isle
And had a great smile,
Our Sadie - she was a tad bit weighty.

There was a young lady named Pat
She could hit any round ball with her bat,
Along came the scout
To the outfield he walked out,
Our Pat hit - knocked that old scout down flat.

My Advice To You
Take time to enjoy the day of the green
It comes only one time per year,
Green hats, parades, and good luck pieces are seen
Paced with plenty of cold, green beer.

Don't drink - oh - too much
Of that cold beer of green,
Or you'll lose your touch
With your little Kathleen.

Those are great. I created a lens on Squidoo to feature the best Limericks for Saint Patricks Day on AC and wondered if you would allow me to publish yours on there. Each one has a link back to the original article here on AC. Thanks.
