Have you ever filled out one of those memos where it asked if you have been on stage within a certain period of time? Have you had to stop and think and then realized that it has been some time and you are itching to get back up in front of the lights? St. Louis is home to a unique stage where young and not so young alike can participate in classes and have the opportunity to actually strut their stuff in front of family and friends on the stage. The Stages St. Louis Company has announced a full schedule of productions and classes aimed to improve individual acting and singing talents and provide opportunities for local thespians to express themselves this summer.

Stages St. Louis is a professional company that is not-for-profit and provides not only excellent theater productions featuring some of the top names in musical theater, but also provides educational opportunities for children and young adults in the St. Louis area. They are award winning, including receiving eight Kevin Kline awards for their 2007 productions. Their educational system is top notch as well and they have been recognized by the Arts and Education Council as winners of the 2008 Excellence in Arts award.

This summer the company is presenting a wide range of camps and classes geared for ages spanning from 3 to 36. The lineup includes everything from puppet classes, musical and voice training and even a production of High School Musical favorites that is sure to get cha head in the game. There is a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat that is sure to draw a crowd and please young and old.

There are even classes geared toward high school students who are experienced in musical theater and wish to challenge and push themselves. These classes allow those who are interested in intensive study to work with professionals in the field and even formulate their audition pieces to give them a better shot when they go for it.

Each class in the summer workshop series ends with a showcase where friends and family can come out and see their stars in action. These promise to be wonderful inspirations for the students and audience members alike.

More information can be found at the Stages St. Louis website which is located at http://www.stagesstlouis.com/index.cfm. Scholarships are available and the workshops themselves are very affordable. Be sure to act soon because some workshops are already filled and waiting lists are available.

This is your chance to get out there on stage again and learn some tricks of the trade from seasoned professionals. Get out there and let your star shine!
