If you're having problems selling your home in this difficult real estate market, then you'll want to read this article. Specifically we will discuss the benefits of staging your home, organizing your home and simple design tips. After reading this article, you should be able to make the changes necessary in your home that will greatly improve the first impressions of the buyer and decrease the time it takes to sell the home. Staging your home can be simply define as "Preparing your home, in detail, so that it is more attractive and appealing to the potential buyers".

There are professional home stagers whose job is to make a home look and feel like a showplace. You don't have to hire a professional home stager to stage your home, you can do it yourself. After you have completed the physical upgrades of your home such as repainting, updating carpet etc., then it is time to stage your home. The first step to staging your home is to remove any and "all" clutter. Go through your home one room at a time and remove any items that are on the floors, in the closets or on tables etc. that make the room look cluttered. Pack these items away and store them in the basement or storage room.

After you have removed all the clutter from each and every room in the house, it's now time to do some deep cleaning. If deep cleaning is not your thing then I suggest that you hire a company to come in and do your deep cleaning for you. It's very important that your home is very clean before opening it up to potential buyers. Make sure the carpets are vacuumed and are very clean. Make sure the furniture, countertops and furnishings are all dust free and clean. Deep clean all your windows, window sills and mini blinds if needed. Regardless if you have silk plants or live plants, make sure they are clean and dust free.

After you are confident that your home is squeaky clean, it's now time for the next level in staging your home. Okay, too much furniture is not good! If you have too much furniture in your house you are going to need to get rid of some of it. What you're going to try and create is the feeling of openness in each and every room. So do what you have to do to rearrange furniture and create the open feel we are trying to achieve. Of course you are going to want to keep your most attractive pieces. If your furniture is old and worn out, you may want to remove it all and rent some temporary pieces of furniture for the staging process.

Now we have the furniture down to a manageable level and we've created that open feel in each of your rooms, it's time to add some flare. Go to your local bookstore or just spend some time online and research some basic home furnishing books or websites. This information will give you some great ideas in adding the final touches to tables, mantles, beds etc., which will complete the staging process.

So as you can see staging your home does not have to be a difficult process and is something that most homeowners can do themselves with enough attention to detail, commitment and determination. The end results of you spending the time staging your home will be well worth it.
