If you're looking for a good exercise bike you should consider the Stamina 1300 Magnetic Resistance upright bike. You can enjoy exercising in your home everyday. Here are some of the good and bad points of this exercise bike.
Pros
The Stamina 1300 comes in pieces but putting the pieces together is a pretty easy job. The assembled unit itself is compact and can be stored in tight spaces without problem. And it won't break your back when you move it around since it only weighs 48 pounds.
When you start pedaling you can feel that the sturdy frame give good support and it is a quiet machine too. Such a silent machine is really beneficial when you're exercising in the night or early in the morning and don't want to wake up the kids.
Another good thing is the monitor. It is large and the numbers are easy to read. Speed, time and distance reading is pretty accurate.
Cons
Just like any other sub $200 exercise bikes this one also has hard seat. You will most likely need to buy a gel seat pad to make exercising on it more comfortable.
The second grief is that this bike was not built for short people. If you're 5'3" or shorter your legs will barely touch the pedal.
The third fault is the monitor. The monitor on this bike tracks speed, time, calories and distance. While the speed, time and distance reading are accurate the calories (just like most exercise bikes) is misleading. The numbers shown is just way off. The bike has no heart rate sensor and you can't enter your weight to accurately calculate the amount of calories you use when riding.
Conclusion
Should you buy a Stamina 1300 if you need a good exercise equipment at home? The answer is maybe. This bike does able to do what it's meant to do which is giving you a low-impact exercise that can maintain and improve your fitness. But if you're rather short or don't want to buy an additional get seat cushion then you would be better off buying another bike.
