Generally, the bowling alley has a good reputation in the community. The staff is willing to listen to the customers and to make every effort to satisfy there requirements. They have spent a great deal of money in recent years in remodeling and cleaning up the place. Stanton Lanes probably has the best value for league bowlers. League bowlers receive free open bowling, free buffet during the Christmas Season, high games awards, VIP Cards, and excellent customer service.

The lanes have several interesting special events. They offer everything from laser-lights with the latest music, to relaxed family friendly environments that parents can take their children to. They offer a variety of specials for almost every type of party. This includes birthday, group, teen, and build your own parties. They also do fundraisers.

A Great Place for Recreation and Socializing

Stanton Lanes in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania has been an institutional icon for as long as I can remember. They have something for just about everyone as the list of bowling leagues that are available demonstrates. The list is available on there web cite. When my father, who is now deceased, became a senior citizen he needed a new form of recreation. Bowling at Stanton Lanes was the answer as he joined a bowling league there. He bowled every Friday night with his friends and then they went out socially. He really enjoined this and this was the focal point of his social life for over a decade. He even received some awards and trophies there. As a matter of fact, he only gave it up when he became too sick to continue.

Learning How To Share

I learned some important lessons about life there. One Saturday morning my friend Andrew wanted to go bowling but he did not have any money. So Andrew my friend Leo and I went bowling at Stanton Lanes. Since Andrew did not have any money he could not bowl so he kept score for us. In those days keeping score manually was essential as this was the only way one could know, what frame one was bowling in, the score of the game and how many games had been played. There were no computers to keep score for the bowlers. So Andrew provided a very valuable service for us, and we all had a great time that day. When I got home I told my mother about my bowling experience and she asked me one very important question. She wanted to know if I let my friend Andrew do any bowling for me. Of course, I did not even think of this and I never asked Andrew to throw a few balls for me. I was never so embarrassed in my life!

I tried to learn from this, however. A couple of weeks later I was at Stanton Lanes and I was just sitting around and watching. I bought a package of peanut butter cups, that had two peanut butter cups in each package. An acquaintance of mine asked me for a piece of candy. He thought I would just break a piece off and give it to him. Instead, I gave him a whole peanut butter cup and he was very happy about it. I had learned my lesson and learned how to share.
