Like most of their products ordered from IRG, the process takes about 7 to 10 business days, so be prepared to wait about two weeks. You can also use different ink colors, but it is a usual 1 or 2 colors and not full color printing. Meaning that they can use standard ink colors (like black, green, teal, red, burgundy, etc) but they cannot mix colors or include differing shades (such as you would find in full color). Also, the printing can only be done one corner, and no where else. With many full color envelopes, you will find printing on the entire envelope, but again they do not offer this.
The envelopes are normally a typical #10 envelope size, but you can also order #9 and windowed envelopes. They can also make a special order for 8.5x11 sized envelopes to fit full size documents (but as a special order it tends to be quite expensive).
They also allow you to order different sealing methods. Both the common method of licking to adhere, and the much better peel and stick method. While the peel and stick method is more expensive, but about $20 for smaller orders and increasing increments by the order size. Though it is an extra charge, it is quite worth it for the convenience.
Now, quality. The quality has always been good, and the only problems I ever experienced with this item is when someone wanted a custom ink color, they could not match it correctly. Since it is usually just words being printed, they always print it well.
You can also include one graphic on some of their layouts (you can view the layouts when ordering), which also comes out well.
As for the printing method, unlike their business cards, you can only print with flat printing. So if you wanted raised lettering you won't find it here.
Pricing is also good for most of the products, besides the larger variety of envelope printing.
So Staples offers a good envelope printing service, with good prices and good quality. While you won't be able to get the alluring look of a full color envelope with a great picture in the center, it will still work for most purposes.
