Star Trek Halloween Costumes and Group Party Planner

Easy Made Halloween Costumes

This year's Halloween costumes contest is a sure win when you show up to your company party with your co-workers or friends wearing the full Star Trek fleet uniforms. I will walk you through this fun filled Halloween guide so your group can be the biggest hit of the party.

Ok so let's get started! First things first you need a good outgoing group to participate. You will need a group consisting with five people, two women, and three men preferable. If you can not come up with five people three will work just fine. So once you have established your group you need to determine who is going to fit the best character for Captain Kirk, Dr. Spock, and a female crew member. If you have a group more than three people I will suggest a few other options for those costumes.

Our first costume is Captain Kirk a classic and a nice easy costume to create or buy. I like the look of the original Captain Kirk played by William Shatner, so we are going to go with classic gold shirt with black slacks and shoes. If you are not pressed for time you could make this costume very easily. To create this costume you will need to find a long sleeve gold t-shirt, a pair of dark black dress pants and a pair of black boots or shoes.

When you finished gathering up all your Treky gear it's time to design the classic star Trek logo to attach to your t-shirt. The quickest way to get this done is to search Google images for the Star Trek logo. When you find a good quality image around 300 dpi, lets save it to your computer so we can print it out. Now you will need some black felt from the craft store. If you are going to make all your uniforms for your group, make sure you purchase enough felt to compete your project. Now open your Star Trek logo and go to file and click print ("Make Sure Your Printer Is Hooked up To the Computer") Print the image out at 100%, then cut it out with some scissors. Place the paper on top of the felt and begin to cut around the paper template. Repeat this process for as many costumes as you need. If you have any troubles getting the logo to the correct size, all you need to do is reduce the print preferences form 100% to a lower number until it's just right.

Now that you have your logo ready for your shirt lets glue it onto the left side of the chest to complete the image. Some good fabric glue works best and is available at the craft store; you can also use Super Glue to adhere the logo to the fabric.

For your other participants you will need a long sleeve shirt in powder blue and red. Everyone will need matching black slacks and shoes. For Dr. Spock you can purchase his famous pointy ears at Buy Costumes.com for only $4.99. All other props would be a great addition to the final look but are not really necessary. I did purchase a vintage ray gun like the one Captain Kirk used in the TV program. It's up to you what props you would like to use, so use your imagination and get creative.

If you do not have the time to make your costume I suggest going online to Buy Costumes.com and you can pick up the whole complete set of Star Trek uniforms for around $49.00 each. Make sure you give yourself some time before Halloween because they do sell out fast.

Our look for Star Trek has been completed! All of you are on your way to becoming this year's first place winners at you company Halloween party! Please read my other Halloween costume guides for great make-up ideas, hair-dos and props. Good Luck and Happy Halloween.
