Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron FAQ/Walkthrough

Part 2: More Ground Combat for the Beginner

Anonymous
In the previous part of the PSP action game Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron FAQ/Walkthrough, we have familiarized ourselves with half of the basics of ground combat. Now we will cover the other half with tasks like fixing broken machines and using them, understanding the capabilities of the Rocket Launcher, and setting up a character suitable for capturing command posts.

Stormtroopers will approach us shortly, but we have a broken gun turret nearby the temple entrance. We can fix this with the Fusion Cutter. Go to the Temple Entrance command post and change Weapon 2 to the Fusion Cutter. Now locate the yellow circle on your radar, which is the location of the gun turret. To fix the turret, first select the Fusion Cutter by pushing the left directional button. Then hold down the X button to begin repairing it. You will see a gauge at the top of the screen monitoring the fixing progress.

After the turret is fixed, the Stormtroopers will appear. Hold down the X button to get rid of one or two of them quickly. Whenever the turret overheats, let go of the X button and wait until the overheat meter empties before you resume firing. If the Stormtroopers move too close to you or if the turret is about to be destroyed, exit the turret by pressing the up button and shoot them down with your own weapons.

Once you killed four Stormtroopers, a tank will appear. Return to the Temple Entrance. If you're low on health, you can equip a Regenerator and use it. In any case, switch Weapon 1 to the Rocket Launcher. This is a good opportunity for us to learn how to strafe. All you need to do is to hold down the R button and move left or right. Do this to avoid the tank's laser, and fire two rockets at the tank to destroy it.

Now we need to capture the Pyramid command post, but we have enemies heading our way. It's hard to take them out with the rocket launcher, because you can't use the R button to lock on to them. Return to the Temple Entrance command and get the following prepared: Blaster Rifle, Blaster Pistol, Rally, Health Level 3, and Capture Speed Level 3. This setup is useful for capturing command posts in general. Return to the Pyramid command post, and capture it.

Some scout snuck into your base and stole some data logs. You will see yellow arrows on your screen, indicating that the enemy is far away from your view. Just run towards the scout and kill him. He will leave behind the stolen data. Just run into the stolen data object to collect it, and return the data back to the temple. Again, just follow the arrows. Let's clean up from here. Destroy the Data Banks to complete this mission.

Now that we have a solid foundation of ground combat, we will dive into space combat in Space Alderaan.
