Star Wars Clone Trooper Halloween Costume
Find some pictures of Star Wars clone troopers in full armor. Make sure that you have pictures of the clones that have been taken from all angles. Get a white 13 gallon trash can. Cut it so that it forms the torso section of the clone armor. Cut one side of the trash can so that you can get the torso armor on and off. Get some cardboard boxes such as cereal, gift or other chipboard boxes. Don't use corrugated cardboard to make the Star Wars clone trooper Halloween costume. Measure and cut the cardboard into the right shape and size to make pieces for the clone armor. Carefully bend the cardboard to shape it to your body. If necessary, wet the cardboard to make it more pliable, then tape it in place and allow it to dry.
Paint the entire Star Wars clone trooper armor set white using acrylic craft paint. Then paint on designs in red, yellow or blue, referring to your Star Wars clone trooper pictures as a guide. Go over all the armor pieces with polyurethane varnish after the paint has dried. Find a white belt and attach white plastic or painted white cardboard pieces to resemble a utility belt. To make your clone costume seem more authentic, buy a cheap clone trooper helmet rather than attempting to make one. Wear a ribbed black sweater and pair of pants underneath the clone armor. Wear all-white shoes and carry a futuristic black toy or prop rifle.
Star Wars Stormtrooper Halloween Costume
You can make a Star Wars stormtrooper costume in much the same way as a clone trooper costume. However, the stormtrooper helmet is larger and a different shape than the clone trooper helmet, so make sure you get the right one. Also, the stormtrooper armor is all white, whereas clone trooper armor has strips of color on the helmet, arms, shoulders and torso. When making the armor, create a knee guard that is attached to the greaves (lower leg armor) rather than creating a separate knee guard. The stormtrooper armor covers the arms more and the back less than the clone trooper armor. Refer to pictures of stormtroopers as your work to make the most authentic Star Wars stormtrooper costume.
Star Wars Princess Leia Halloween Costume
Find a full-length white dress with a bell sleeve that flares outward at the lower arm and wrist. Preferably, the Princess Leia dress should be made from a silky, flowing material. Find a white belt with a point at the bottom center. Attach silver-colored jewelry to the belt or paint it silver to match pictures of Princess Leia. If your hair is long and brown, style it like Princess Leia. Part the hair in the middle, then twist the hair on one side and wrap it into a bun. Hold the hair in place with bobby pins and hair pins. Repeat on the other side and apply hairspray. If your hair isn't the right color or isn't long enough, use these instructions to style a long brown wig.
A Princess Leia slave costume is harder to make, but it can be made inexpensively. Get a brown string bikini and multiple pictures of Princess Leia in her slave costume. Get some wire from a hardware store (don't use a wire hanger). Put on the bikini, then begin to shape the wire to match the metal pieces of the slave costume in your picture. Use a soft, air-hardening modeling clay such as Prang DAS to mold the metal pieces of the costume. When the clay has dried, paint it with a brass or antique gold acrylic craft paint. Sew a long, maroon colored piece of fabric to the front and the back of the bikini bottoms. Carefully attach the dry, painted clay pieces to the bathing suit with hot glue, ensuring that you don't get any excess glue on the costume. Get a pair of second-hand leather boots which resembles the boots in Princess Leia's slave costume. Either make a bracelet for your upper arm, or find a bracelet and paint it with the metallic craft paint. Wear a long braided wig or fall if your hair isn't long enough for the Star Wars slave costume.
Star Wars Darth Vader Halloween Costume
Get a pair of pants, a shirt, a cape, a belt with a silver buckle, some boots and pair of gloves, all in black. Also get a long black robe to go under the cape . Make the chestpiece which covers Darth Vader's upper chest out of cardboard and paint it black. Get a box that's about 3 inches wide and long and 1 inch tall. Paint it black, then paint on buttons in red, green and silver paint. Buy a cheap Darth Vader all-in-one mask and helmet to go with the costume. After you put on the pants, shirt and boots, attach the cardboard box control panel to your abdomen using black elastic straps. Put on the long black robe, then put on the belt and chestplate. Put on the boots, cape and mask. Then wear the mask. Complete your Star Wars Darth Vader Halloween costume by breathing in and out audibly.
Star Wars Jedi Knight Halloween Costume
The Jedi Knight is much easier to make than other Star Wars costumes. Get a tan or cream-colored robe. Cinch it with a brown belt or sash. Get a darker brown hooded robe for the outside. Wear brown hiking boots or similar plain boot. Carry a full-sized toy lightsaber that lights up when you press a button. If you want a more authentic looking Star Wars lightsaber, make one yourself. Get a basic silver-colored metal flashlight. Cover the light with film of the color you want for your lightsaber. Secure the film with duct tape. Cut a section of transparent PVC pipe so that it's about the same length as the flashlight. Then wrap a transparent sheet of plastic around the pipe so that it tapers slightly at the end. Secure the tape to the flashlight using silver duct tape. To look more like Anakin Skywalker, paint a scar running down the right side of your face beside the eye. If your hair isn't the right length or color, wear a shoulder-length light brown or dark blond wig.
