Star Wars: The Old Republic Releases Highly Anticipated Next Trailer!

The Trailer of the Forthcoming MMO by Bioware and Lucasarts Does Not Disappoint!

Star Wars The Old Republic releases the next highly anticipated trailer from their forthcoming massively multiplayer online game that has been developed in cooperation by Bioware Games and Lucasarts.

In the years before the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, the Sith Empire sought to crush the Republic's morale by destroying Alderaan. See one of the pivotal battles of this conflict in their new trailer "Hope".

After the exciting trailer "Deceived" at 2009's E3 video game conference, which featured the sacking of the capitol planet Coruscant by the Sith, and learning that Star Wars: The Old Republic would become the first entirely voiced MMO to exist on the market, many players eagerly sought to learn about what was in store in Bioware's interpretation of the often adapted Star Wars extended universe. In Deceived we were exposed to the Bounty Hunter class, the Jedi Warriors, and the Sith Warriors.

The new trailer is longer than the first one by over two minutes and reveals more about what you can expect from the Trooper class and Jedi Consular for the Republic side and shows off more of the Sith Warrior class for the Sith Empire. The battle is epic and definitely gets the blood pumping as a republic trooper and a double bladed lightsaber equipped female Jedi take on and pwn Darth Malgus!

We also get a chance to see what Alderaan looked like before it was destroyed, and became the first planet to suffer the might of the Empire with their new weapon the Death Star in the film Star Wars: A New Hope.

This trailer comes after fans of Star Wars learned that unlike Star Wars Galaxies, Star Wars: The Old Republic would indeed have the playable planet of Hoth, featured prominently in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. It is welcome news, for gamers had been requesting Hoth be included in Star Wars Galaxies for years. The trailer has generated the exciting possibility and pardon the pun, perhaps the hope, that Luscasarts and Bioware will announce at this E3 that beta will open sometime this late summer or even the fall of 2010. The game is rumored for a spring 2011 launch date, but a guy can dream, can't he?

With Blizzard Entertainment's next expansion, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm delayed until likely November 2010, and with the excitement of Star Trek Online dying down, the time seems ripe for a new MMO to strike... back as it were.
