However the Star Wars universe took a turn for the worse with the New Jedi Order books. A race known as the Yuuzhan Vong, from outside the Star Wars galaxy, invade and largely destroy the new republic. The series even kills off some beloved characters. So it is with apprehension that I view new material to be added to the Star Wars Library. A million questions about new stuff come to mind: How will it affect the movies? What will this add to Star Wars?
I have heard rumors of a Star Wars TV show for a long time; ever since my middle school years. So the announcement that Lucas has a show in the works in no big surprise (note: this is different than the 3d animated Clone Wars show about to release). Many avid Star Wars fans know that this is not a first. There has been a made-for-TV movie that aired in 1984 known as The Ewok Adventure. The most recent TV-incarnation of Star Wars was an animated series known as Star Wars: Clone Wars.
No one who has seen Lucas's work can doubt his creativity and vision, but how will his latest work change Star Wars? Lucas says, according to the Los Angeles Times, that "the Skywalkers aren't in it, and it's about minor characters." He even jokes that it is about droids.
Let the speculation begin! R2-D2? C3PO? Where do all those droids from the trade federation go? Do we get to see new droids? I wonder how they will make a whole TV show based on droids. Of course they are the least explored group in the movies so a huge story could be hiding there.
I am very excited for this Star Wars TV series and I think that it will do great. I don't think that this new show will affect the movies much. Lucas said that he is not going to be focusing on the main characters. I think that is a good move and it will provide a good back story to the movies.
Even though I am apprehensive of new material I think that with Lucas behind this project and the fact that it isn't going to focus on the main characters means that it stands a good chance of being a hit.
What do you think?

I think anything star wars will succeed with many fans, but it may work best on the Sci Fi network. I recommend using a photo with articles like this one to attract more interest.
