When I was younger, I didn't like the flavor of coffee ice cream, but now I really enjoy eating it. While shopping for ice cream recently, I happened to notice that one pint containers of Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream were on sale, so I decided to purchase a container.
As it turns out, I really enjoyed this variety of coffee ice cream and I think it would be a good product to review. Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is an article which reviews and examines Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream.
Size
The net weight of the container of Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream being reviewed here is one pint (16 ounces). It's nice to see that Starbucks' one pint ice cream containers are still actually a pint, not 14 ounces, like some other national ice cream brands are offering.
According to the product's nutrition facts label, the container holds four servings. One container of this ice cream supplied me with two servings. The ice cream tastes so good, I almost couldn't stop eating it.
Price
The regular retail price charged for one 1 pint container of Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream at Hartford, Connecticut area food retailers varies. When I recently purchased a container of this ice cream at a chain pharmacy, it was on sale for $2.99 per container.
A couple of hours ago, I was shopping at that pharmacy and happened to notice some other flavors of Starbucks ice cream in the freezer and the regular listed price per container was more than four dollars.
At major supermarkets in the Hartford area, the regular retail price charged for one container of this Starbucks ice cream ranges between $3.39 and $4.29.
Consistency / Texture
This coffee ice cream is smooth and creamy and it feels great on the tongue. Nice and rich, Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream is full-bodied and offers an overall pleasing mouth feel.
Nutritional Facts
Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream contains 210 calories, with 120 calories from fat, per 1/4 container serving. This ice cream also contains 6 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 13 grams total fat, 65 mg of cholesterol, 55 mg of sodium, 21 grams total carbohydrates, 0 grams of dietary fiber, 19 grams of sugars and 3 grams of protein, per 1/4 container serving.
Taste / Flavor
Over the course of the past couple of years, I have become very fond of coffee ice cream. My favorite coffee ice cream is Edy's Maxx Java Mashup, but I think I like Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream almost as much as the Edy's ice cream.
The Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream is actually a combination of coffee and espresso ice creams, although the espresso flavor in this ice cream is very subtle . To me, this ice cream offers a grown-up, sophisticated flavor that is very satisfying. It is sweet, but not too sweet and is quite refreshing.
On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of 9.75.
Packaging
Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream is packaged in a standard type round cardboard one pint ice cream container. The front of the white container features Starbucks' green and white logo and the rear label lists all relevant ingredient and nutritional information.
The tannish-brown lid on this ice cream removes easily and it recloses effectively.
Overall Rating
All things considered, Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream is a very flavorful variety of ice cream. As with every other of the many Starbucks food items I have eaten, this ice cream is high in overall quality.
Although the regular retail price of this ice cream is out of my ballpark, I would definitely buy this frozen item again when it is on sale. Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream is a recommended product.

Post a CommentI think Starbucks ice cream is probably one of the worst brands I've ever had....yes, the first ingredient is cream, but the second ingredient is water, so you've basically got watered down cream that's been thickened with locust bean gum...not what I look for in a premium priced brand.
You know how ice creams with too much water in them make your mouth hurt...that's Starbucks, all name, no quality.
I love coffee flavored ice cream.
