Starbucks Has Decided to Offer Discounts for Customers

Starbucks has jumped on the economic wagon! They are among the first of companies to introduce discounts for their frequent customers. Starbucks might agree that the economy is going through difficult times and have come up with a way to help consumers as well as to keep the money rolling in. The company has come up with several money-saving tactics for Q4 that will encourage consumers to start purchasing coffee again! Many people have cut spending on small unnecessary items and coffees have been the drop for a lot of Americans. You will see that it does pay off to be a frequent customer of your favorite coffee house. Boy have they come up with some deals for us!

The company, based out of Seattle, will cut prices on items sold in the store and will roll out a "loyalty" card that will reward frequent customers with discounts! That's right, DISCOUNTS! They have a one track system in place. Reward frequent customers and price items in the shop cheaper. They will cut prices of gift items sold in store by a few dollars compared to previous years. Starbucks will be rolling out a "Gold Card" in November that will save frequent customers 10% of purchases. There are several Americans who have made Starbucks part of their daily routine and they will benefit much from this rollout.

The card will cost $25 and has been involved in a couple of test markets. So far, the company has already mailed out a few thousand free cards to its best customers! Across the country, each store will receive 3 cards they can hand out for free to its best customers as well. Most frequent customers will definitely switch over to the gold card because it is one heck of a deal.

In another attempt to bring in more customers, they have also cut a deal with Costco that will sell five $20 gift cards for $80! That is one free gift card. That is 4 drinks from Starbucks! Who can pass that up? That is a deal, especially for frequent customers.

With the company lowering costs of gifts in store, rolling out this deal with Costco, and introducing this gold card, they can't lose in Q4 2008. This will be a surefire way for Starbucks to raise earnings and bring customers back who have cut spending on latte's due to the downturn in the economy. Way to go Starbucks for being one of the first companies
