iPistol
Video (YouTube)
On various televisions, you can find a humorous parody of Apple's iPod ads. And the iPistol's slogan? "Take a shot at life"
Dancing Night Elf
Video (YouTube)
In the Cantina, you can find a night elf dancing in the upper left hand corner.
Lost Viking
Video (YouTube)
In the Catina, you can also find a playable arcade game called "Lost Viking". It's a reference to one of the earlier Blizzard games, "The Lost Vikings." You can read more about the original game on Wikipedia. The overhead space shooter also gives you a diversion from the campaign if you need to take a break.
Diablo
Video (YouTube)
Diablo himself, from Blizzard's RPG series, can be found in the Devil's Playground mission.
Metroid
Article (Kotaku)
An astute reader on Kotaku found out a little homage to Nintendo's Metroid in one campaign level.
BSOD
Article (Kotaku)
Another astute reader on Kotaku found a poke at Windows and the Blue Screen of Death on the drill of the The Dig mission.
Tauren Space Marine
Video (YouTube)
Another World of Warcraft reference, you can find a Level 80 Tauren Space Marine in the Zero Hour mission. As the link above shoes, he doesn't stick around long.
Video (YouTube)
An elite tauren chieftan (level 800 mind you) also makes an appearance in a commercial.
Grunty the Space Murloc
Video (YouTube)
In addition to Taurens, it appears Murlocs can also be Space Marines. You'l find Grunty in the Secret Mission.
Optimus Prime
Article (BitMob)
Over at Bitmob, someone found a little homage to Transformers in one campaign mission.
Cloaked Nova
Video (YouTube)
During the campaign, you'll meet a Dominion Ghost named Nova. Does the name sound familiar? In fact, it's the same Nova from the ill-fated Starcraft: Ghost console game. You can read more about the history of Starcraft: Ghost on Wikipedia. There isn't anything secret to show about Nova in the main storyline, however a hidden Nova can be found in the armory, as the video link above illustrates.
Dance and Cheer
Video (YouTube)
Dancing macros have been carried over from World of Warcraft. Just type /dance or /cheer to get your Marines, Marauders, Zealots, Hydralisks, Zerglings, or Ultralisks to dance!
Jukebox Classic Rock
It appears classic rock like Lynard Skynard's "Freebird" and "Sweet Home Alabama", Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds" and "An American Trilogy", The Stooges' "Raw Power", Link Wray's "Rumble", and country classic "Dim Lights, Thick Smoke and Loud Loud Music" have survived all the way into the future of Starcraft. You'll find them all in the jukebox in the Cantina.
Just like in the original Starcraft, a number of the cheat codes in Starcraft II reference pop culture. You can type "iamironman" to add +1 shields and armor. The cheat is the name of a classic Black Sabbath song. The cheat "eyeofsauron" allows you to view the game cinematics. It's a clear reference to the Lord of the Rings. The cheat "jaynestown" gives you some extra resources. It's a reference to an episode from the Firefly television series.
Exploding Critters
Video (YouTube)
A classic easter egg from the original Starcraft was to click on a critter repeatedly and it would eventually explode (video). Well, apparently the easter egg is back in Starcraft II.
Warcraft Adventures & Starcraft Ghost
Screenshot (IncGamers)
I once heard a quote from a journalist saying, "Blizzard never makes bad games, it's a testament to how great a company they are." A rebuttal from another journalist was, "No, they do make bad games. They just never release them." Blizzard isn't ashamed to put in some copies of their canceled games into some junk laying around. You can read more about Warcraft Adventures and Starcraft: Ghost at Wikipedia here and here.

"Blizzard" Ad (IncGamers)
Littered throughout the Starcraft universe are a bunch of billboards with fun little advertisements, mocking real or non-real products. Blizzard even puts an advertisement in there for themselves.
War Games
Screenshot (IncGamers)
On a couple of computer screens, you can find a little reference to the move War Games, a classic geek movie staring Matthew Broderick from 1983 (IMDB entry). (You'll see yet another reference to WoW in the screenshot above too).

Post a CommentOn the Cutthroat map , there is a wrecked Enterprise type ship to the south and two wrecked battlestasr slightly east of the Enterprise. On the west side above Mira's base looks like a Death Star is being recycled.Look for the energy cannon on it.
Theres also one with the cutscene at Char. Raynor will grab a dead marine's dog tag and revealing that his name was M. Koiter.
Michel Koiter was actually a Blizzard artist that died from heart failure in 2004.
Another Murloc marine on "Welcome to the jungle" mission. Fly to the left side of a building, and you will see a Murloc marines before you reach the Protoss relic.
Thanks for the tips. I've added em into the list.
There's another easter egg: the iCruiser (screenshot taken on a esES client)
